Salzhaus is located in an old salt warehouse on Landhausquai, right on the banks of the Aare River in Solothurn.

At Salzhaus, we use fresh ingredients, add plenty of culinary craft and passion, and serve it with a good portion of creativity and imagination. Be enchanted by our restaurant’s unique atmosphere, where old and new are perfectly balanced, where historic 16th-century building materials meet cutting-edge interiors and a stunning lighting design. Our food has been awarded 12 GaultMillau points, but that’s not all – our well-stocked wine cellar has just the right bottle for your meal, too. Whether you come for fine dining, lunch, or just a coffee and a homemade dessert, a trip to Salzhaus is always worth it. The extraordinary interior design combines contemporary elements with the building’s historic features.

Head chef Christian Härtge and hosts Jonathan Wepfer and Damian Corradini welcome you with their team. Whether for lunch, dinner or a small aperitif at the bar: we look forward to welcoming you and are always on hand with help and advice.

Jonathan Wepfer

After his apprenticeship at our partner company La Couronne, Jonathan moved to Basel to join Tanja Grandits at Restaurant Stucki. After an instructive few months, he has returned to his home town and welcomes you to the Salzhaus.

Damian Corradini

After his time at the Swiss Hotel Management School in Lucerne, he gained broad professional experience at the In Lain Hotel Cadonau in Breil with the Vivanda restaurant, at the Werkstatt restaurant in Lucerne and finally ran the pop-up Bar8 in Bern.

Christian is a passionate chef and cook. His fusion cuisine has set standards in Solothurn and far beyond. Accents from Asian cuisine, especially Japanese, are his trademark and make each of his dishes an experience.
